Books for Kigutu is a grass roots organization located in Medford, Oregon, USA. Our goal is to bring books and educational materials to the village of Kigutu, Burundi, East Africa. We are partners with Village Health Works.
Let's Eat, a book for preschool and kindergarten children, is now available in Burundi. This book is written in English, French and Kirundi, the native language of Burundi. Written by Modeste Bucumi, of Burundi and Katherine Leppek of Oregon, USA it addresses the need for nutrition education and books in the local language. Let's Eat was published and funded by H.O.W. Journal of New York and Sharon Jacob. Illustrations are by the Spence School Girl Scout First grade Brownie Troop. This book represents a true collaboration between Village Health Works and Books for Kigutu. For more information click on our News link.
